What have the last 5 weeks taught Us?
When there’s not a lot to do, apart from rest (talking about myself), the mind goes into overdrive and Covid-19 has given us a huge amount to think about. When the good times are in abundance, no one really gives it a second thought but it’s crisis, tragedy, anguish, pain that truly bring us together. We have nothing to compare this situation, all we can do is refer back to historical events. I read somewhere at the beginning of the pandemic that the virus does not discriminate. However, bear in mind that not everyone is in a position of privilege, and some have been more affected than others.
Coronavirus Day 13 - Listen to Your Body, Listen to Public Health England
I love to write. Usually I write letters to family & friends or articles for the GLM Blog and newsletters, and over the last 18 months, I have also had to write assignments for the GDL course I have been studying.
I have always loved words, much much more than I love numbers and i have been lucky enough to have been exposed to 3 languages for as long as I can remember, so my mind is ALWAYS full of words in either French, Italian or English. But this Blog is not about words, it is about emotions, mainly the fear I have felt over the last 2 2 weeks.
Preparedness to avoid creating Panic
Letting Agents have always been capable of dealing with challenges - change management is part of their psyche. However, as the outbreak of the Coronavirus begins to be more prevalent, agents are putting procedures into place the guidance provided by Public Health England. No one, even the specialists are sure of how this situation will unravel. Larger organisations have already rolled out their plans, small to medium enterprises should follow suit.
Celebrate the Property Management Team
Autumn brings with it a whole range of issues that Property Managers need to navigate, from the left over pesky pests from a relatively warm summer to the obvious boiler breakdowns that result in no heating and no hot water. The autumn rain and wind also trigger a whole raft of “damage” , which include leaky roofs, blown down fences and other weather related matters. Whilst the values and negotiators land new business, in the background property managers oversee the the resolution of issues that come to light daily - 24/7, 365 days a year.
