Positive Energy to Carry Forward to 2022
Given the last 20 months, it’s easier to focus on the negative rather than the positive.
The speed with which 2021 has gone by is astounding as are the peaks and troughs of emotion and change that businesses have had to deal with. Yet, where there is negativity, there has to be positivity to counterbalance. And goodness there is so much to be grateful for.
We would like to congratulate our learners who passed their Level 3 and 4 exams. They have been part of our successful 'Hybrid Learning Programme”. The commitment and dedication the students shown have shown has been very impressive when a Netflix boxset is often a much more attractive alternative.
As a proeprtyMark centre we have been working closely with many letting agents who are offering the Level 3 technical Award to their employees. We nominated Anthony Pepe for PropertyMark Qualification Employer Champion as a result of the deception the company has shown towards their employees ensuring that they are well-equipped to provide exceptional service to their client base.On the 6th December at the award ceremony, it was announced that they had won. Managing Director, Charlie Perdios expressed the importance of ensuring that the employees’ training programme forms a crucial part of business success.

Letting Agent's Date for the Diary - 2021
A few days into 2021 and we are already navigating the beginning of a third Lockdown. The difference this time is that lettings agents, landlords and tenants have been here before. Covid-19 Protocols are in place, there is a much better understanding of what can and cannot be done, WFH processes systems are up and running.
Being organised and prepared is very important. Certain things will be happening in 2021 than can be managed and planned for now. Landlords will need their letting agents support and guidance more than ever, so plan your diary well.
The third Consultation on Domestic Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarms ends on 11th January 2021.
The proposals are that social landlords ensure at least one smoke alarm is installed on each storey of a building where any rooms are used as living accommodation; carbon monoxide alarms to be fitted alongside the installation of fixed combustion appliances of any fuel type; and private and social landlords to install carbon monoxide alarms in any room used as living accommodation where a fixed combustion appliance is used.

COVID-19 Will Continue To Test Small Businesses—Here’s How To Respond
Almost every business, regardless of size, has had to make adjustments to cope with the new realities accompanying the pandemic. The near-universal pivot to remote work, government-mandated stay-at-home orders, and ongoing health concerns have created a business environment that looks, for all intents and purposes, dramatically different than it did just months ago. Yet this is exactly the type of environment in which entrepreneurs thrive.
Your creativity, willingness to embrace risk, and ability to spot opportunity where others can’t are what allowed you to start a business in the first place, and those same attributes will serve you well as you seek ways to adapt in the months and years ahead. Your business may be struggling now, but by relying on the traits and instincts that got you to this point, you can keep moving forward. Plus, there are plenty of proven strategies you can deploy to continue to create value, even when your resources are stretched thin. Here are five:
1. Refine your marketing strategy and increase your focus on digital tactics.
If the pandemic has taught us anything, it’s that we’re more reliant than ever on modern technology. Even if you’re not positioned to make substantial investments in new tools, you should constantly evaluate the digital strategies and technologies you already use, and now is the perfect time to do so in preparation for “the next normal.” Owen Loft, cofounder of Socium Media, recommends that companies take this time to optimize what’s working and explore new ideas.
