The End of an Era marks the Beginning of a New One
We are deeply saddened at the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
It’s hard to believe that two days before Queen Elizabeth passed away she had been dealing with the formalities of saying goodbye to Boris Johnson and granting an audience to Liz Truss. Smiley and effervescent, a consummate and dedicated professional, the Queen continued working until her death.
The last few days have demonstrated exactly what the Queen meant to the country, the Commonwealth and the whole World, but more than that - exactly how she was dedicated to her role.
Hers was a unique situation - foisted into a being heir to the throne because of a change of circumstance, she had very little choice but to carry on, she couldn’t find another job, this was her duty. A duty she fulfilled for 70 years and of course, along with that 70 years of scrutiny.
Whilst we did not know her, she has always been there - omnipresent, the constant in a changing world for 7 decades.
She will be sorely missed by many, her legacy will live on.The last few days have demonstrated exactly what the Queen meant to get country and the Commonwealth, but more than that - exactly how she was dedicated to her role.
